- What's your name?
Vulpine Smile
- Where are you from?
Cambridge/Saffron Walden
- Tell us how your journey has been from your beginnings until now.
We started off as a two piece playing blues rock until Matt joined the band and we expanded our sound. In the last few years we’ve changed our name a few times, written loads of songs, played some great gigs (and some bad ones), we have definitely learnt a lot! And in general, we feel we have a strong direction for our music now.
- Tell us about your musical style, influences, ...
We Learnt by playing blues music so we’re rooted in that but we have somehow ended sounding quite Psychedelic at times, which was completely unintentional but we’ve learnt to just go with it - listening to a lot of Jimi Hendrix obviously rubbed off. We find it hard to stick to one genre or style of music so most of our sets consist of loud and fuzzy riffs thrown in with slightly more sentimental folk songs. We try to strongly contrast everything we do.
- What has been your last project?
Our last project was the single The Way It Flows and our E.P will be coming out in the next few weeks probably. It’s going to be called Project Abandon.
- And the next thing you have planned?
- Upcoming concerts, events ....
- We have a gig this Wednesday 7th March at the Half Moon Bishops Stortford and we have two more gigs coming up in Cambridge which will be announced soon.
