What's your name?
We are Unspoken, a 5 piece rock band, consisting of Lisa (vocals), Philip (lead guitar), Jim (Guitar), Phil (Bass) and Jamie (Drums)
Where are you from?
We are from Teesside, in the North East of England.
Tell us how your journey has been from your beginnings until now.
Unspoken was formed in January 2017 by Lisa. After a two year spell singing in a rock covers band, she had started to write and perform her own songs and decided the time was right to put her own band together, get her music onto a bigger stage and have a lot of fun in the process. Formed with husband Jim and a group of friends with a shared love of rock and blues music, the first year has been an amazing ride for us. We've recorded two of Lisa's songs and heard them played regularly on Only Rock Radio, thanks guys. We've played many gigs in the local area and continued to write new material, with Jim and Philip also joining Lisa in writing new material.
Tell us about your musical style, influences
We have a mixture of influences from classic and blues rock greats like the Stones and Free, through to more recent, heavier bands like Pearl Jam and Alter Bridge. We believe in heavy chords and strong melodies!
What has been your last project?
We have just played our biggest gig to date, supporting another popular local band at the famous O2 Academy in Newcastle upon Tyne. This was an amazing experience for us performing our own material on the biggest stage and through the loudest sound system any of us have ever experienced.
And the next thing you have planned?
We are keen to get into the studio again as soon as possible and get more of our songs out to a wider audience.
