Martina Doerner review: "It won't change a thing" by Montana Musical Experiments Project @bcpmusic1 @dorner_martina

Let me introduce you to the "Montana Musical Experiments Project" and the new album "It won't change a thing".
MMXP is a one man project founded 1996 in Lund/Sweden by Alexander Ahlstrand.
Started with home made tape recordings by using acoustic and unplugged electric guitars and a Casio keyboard, he sold a couple of self-produced cassette demos at local music stores in Lund. He then helped to form the psychedelic rock outfit Soundescape which released 2 CDs and was also joining the DJ duo The Mantra Brothers in 1999.
After focusing on making art and animation Alexander released the single "No Liberty", a foretaste of the album which I present to you today.
The album"It won't change a thing" without exaggeration is nothing for a cozy summer night and that you can hear on the side, rather, it requires the listener's full attention. It sounds like a story being told, a story of protest and the fight against oppression in the Trump era.
"The Choice We Make"  is the start of a relentless billing with society and everything that goes wrong today. And this fight against oppression, paternalism and domineering rules runs through the entire album.
"Making Calls" is a song with a sick bass line
a bit in the Arabic style and it sounds like a call to a prayer.
"This little Piggy".. take a nurse rhyme, work with it and you get a brilliant song with great lyrics.
"The Greater One"  a song about Donald Trump and very politic.
"No Trust" is about the political landscape in America and the feeling that nobody can be trusted. An epic end of the album with a fantastic guitar solo.

These are just a few songs from this fascinating album.
However, it is not that you lose hope for improvement, it is rather an encourager who shows that it is always worthwhile to stand up and fight for your rights and never lose hope.
An album that is so completely different from everything I've heard so far and that will certainly not only leave a lasting impression on me but everyone who hears this impressive work
Get a picture of this really brilliant album, listen and remember that we can only change something if we stand together.

Martina Doerner interviews Bomba, musician from Stuttgart @bomba_378 @dorner_martina #tiorrblog

Today I am looking forward to an interview partner who lives "around the corner": Bomba from Stuttgart

Welcome and thank you for your questions and answers
It would be nice if you could introduce yourself briefly.

Hello I'm BOMBA, 35 years old and a talented music artist from the Stuttgart area who has a vision. My genre is Latino Pop with a mix of 2 languages.

How did you get into music?  Was it a dream you had as a child?

I liked singing in the shower when I was a child, or on my way to the football training
At 16 we had a band that covered Backstreet Boys on firm.  After this time there was a break of a few years.  Until I decided to do something of my own, write my own texts and record them.

Tell us about the creation of a song, do you think of the lyrics spontaneously or is it a longer process?

My songs are about things I've experienced, from negative to positive.  I always try to process it and hope to be able to help people or to make them dance.
I'm writing my texts always really fast, but I'm usually never satisfied and always try to make it perfect.  It is different, there were texts that were finished in a few hours and others just a few days or even weeks.

Are there certain artists that inspire you?

Yes, of course, Pietro Lombardi is one of them.  It inspires me that he knew he wasn't the best singer but he did it out of passion like me.  That was his success and everyone saw it.

You mix German and Portuguese in your songs ... that makes your music very unique .. how did you come up with it?

First of all, I didn't want to do anything that everyone is already doing.  Nowadays you only stick out who you do your own thing in your own way and best of all what brings new things to the market.  Since I knew there was no such thing, I thought it was a good idea. It was also important to me that I don't imitate anything so that there is no headwind. The hardest thing now is to convince people.

Do you have role models or musicians with whom you would like to be on stage?
Sure, I would  like to play with Maluma, Nicky Jam, Ariana Grande, Luis Fonsi, Kay one or Pietro Lombardi, because I think that you can combine them well and end up with something awesome.
And when you're on stage, what about stage fright?

I remember my first appearance where I wrote a song for my sister for her birthday.  When I wanted to sing it at their party, I had a complete blackout and couldn't do anything.  That got me ready and then I worked on direction. The next gigs were also very nervous, but it was mastered.  Today I enjoy it on stage and hardly feel any nervousness because I really enjoy seeing everyone singing and dancing.

What do you do when you're not making music?  Do you have hobbies or do you still have time to pursue them?

I like to spend time when with my family or friends and life partner. Unfortunately there is usually not much time for hobbies because I always work on new projects. But when there is time I like to do sports or go swimming to switch off from everyday life.

What kind of music do you like to listen to?

So I actually hear everything across the bed as long as it sounds good. But currently I prefer pop, reggae, dancehall and rap music.  It is important to me that I can be reflected in songs.

Is there a specific place or location where you would like to perform?

To be able to appear on Ibiza or Spain and Portugal would be a dream. A big festival would also appeal to me, otherwise in the Schleyer Halle in Stuttgart. I will continue to work hard to make my dreams come true.

What do you think, how much do social media influence music and how active are you there?

I think social networks are the most important thing today, it would probably not be possible without them. The problem is that there are too many artists and the hardest thing is to stand out from everyone else. I am very active in social networks so that I can present myself and my brand.

Is there anything in the music industry that you would like to change if you had the opportunity?

Definitely! What annoys me is that you can't get over it without investing in marketing and promoting. And every artist who starts over has not made yet the big money,so how can he promote his music well?
You can be the best singer but without putting a lot of money nobody will find you.
And the big labels mostly work with artists who has already built up something. So the question arises what can the talented do who simply don't have the money? They perish or are never discovered.

Are there things that really make you angry and what is it that makes you totally happy?

I get angry when people speak my music badly without seeing the work behind it. Above all, it is always people who have achieved nothing themselves. Can such people judge others who make an effort and work hard for it? Don't think….
I am totally happy when I am on stage and see everyone join in, move and sing out loud.  It always makes me proud to see how people share this happy moment with me.

What are your plans, what can we expect next?

Next up is a first big event on May 9, 2020 where I can share the stage with the star singer Emanuel Oficial from Portugal. It makes me proud that I get the opportunity after 1 year. Before and after as always, new projects will come out. In the fall I will take a break and make an album for next year.

Thank you very much for this really interesting conversation and all the best for your future projects.

Hyperomm #tiorrblog

HYPEROMM - BIOGRAPHY
HYPEROMM is a melodic death metal one-man project founded in Moscow, Russia. The multi-instrumentalist, sound producer and designer Anton Trubin created the band in 2016. He does everything from scratch: performance, mixing, and design. At its core, HYPEROMM is strictly a studio project and was conceived as an artistic release for Trubin .
Melodic, but restless and wild - HYPEROMM provides everything that fans of melodic death metal will love. Between influences such as CHILDREN OF BODOM, KALMAH , OMNIUM GATHERUM , NORTHER , and IN FLAMES , HYPEROMM presents a characteristic way of sound, that combines directness with sweeping structures.
The band’s debut LP From Nothing To Eternity was released in February 2017. With lyrics inspired by classic writers like Emily Dickinson , Walt Whitman , William Ernest Henley , the record presented a conceptual component. The name From Nothing To Eternity emphasizes the message of ephemeral life transcended through eternal art.
HYPEROMM ’s second, and newest, studio effort bears the name Transcendence and was released in September 2019. Thematically, the record is devoted to various forms of life after death, the eternal existence of the soul, and different worldviews about the afterlife. The album also tackles otherworldly, cultural ideas, thoughts and systematic overviews of postmortem life. The lyrics for Transcendence were written by Demether Grail ( ARCANORUM ASTRUM , GRAILIGHT , SKYLORD , ZMEY GORYNICH ), and Sergey Shulzhenko from the band SUNLESS RISE performed a guest solo in track Illusory State .
Currently Trubin is working on a new music video, as well as a special print of the record featuring a 12 page booklet featuring his own art. Being a restless spirit when it comes to creating, Trubin is already working on new materials for next year.
Anton Trubin is a 33-years-old musician and motion designer born and raised in Barnaul, Siberia. He started his musical journey at 16 with his first band called SOUNDSTORM , a mix between melodic death and power metal. After 10 years of existence the band called it quits and he moved to Moscow with his family. A few years later, in 2016, HYPEROMM was born. In parallel to music, Trubin is a motion designer currently working for one of Russia’s main TV channels.

The Russian melodic death metal act HYPEROMM released its second full-length album
Transcendence in September 2019. Transcendence is about otherworldly, cultural ideas, thoughts and systematic overviews of postmortem life.
Founded in 2016 in Moscow, Russia, HYPEROMM is a melodic death metal project surrounding multi-instrumentalist, sound producer and designer, Anton Trubin .
Transcendence , released in September 2019, is thematically devoted to various forms of life after death, deals about the eternal existence of the soul, and includes different worldviews about the afterlife. The lyrics for the album were written by Demether Grail ( ARCANORUM ASTRUM , GRAILIGHT , SKYLORD , ZMEY GORYNICH ), and Sergey Shulzhenko from the band SUNLESS RISE performed a guest solo in track Illusory State .
“ Transcendence was recorded in my home studio. The process itself was different from traditional bands, because I use MIDI drums. The sound of drums is the foundation of a good metal mix, so sampling drums is one of the most important parts of my work on the overall sound. I start by recording one track and mixing at once. First I get a sound that suits me, after that, when I compose and record songs, I hear almost the final result at the same time. It helps me with the arrangements,” comments Trubin on the creative process.

About the sound of the album the multi-instrumentalist says: “I tried to achieve a more aggressive sound than on the first album. The sound of drums is leaning more towards a modern metal sound, but there is still a lot of classic melodic death metal in the guitars and melodies. Many use the drop tuning, but I’m playing in standard tuning. I’m trying to do the hard sound without using any low tuned guitars, but by composing good riffs.”

'Escape with me' Elisa Duwez's new single Electro Dance just released on all digital platforms, under the label iM Electronica. written in franco English , is a small positive message that Elisa wants to give to the world today, 'Escape with me, come into my world' change your philosophy, .... a little wink to dream to the people who in recent times have become a little 'depressed' letting oneself get a little too overwhelmed by external problems and bad news through the media, she tries to make them escape a little from everyday reality, 'and to change their philosophy and their way of seeing things, 'just try' and also do understand that we can find a few 'good vibes' in the things of the daily, nature, a flower, the sun, music (of course) etc ... make a smile to a unknown in the street, it can change the day and energy of a person, it takes to be happy .... this little message passed on a rhythmic electro dance music for the summer that makes you want to move, let's escape with Elisa!

The Stan Laurels @thestanlaurels via @bigindiegiant

The Stan Laurels BIO The Stan Laurels, based in Austin, TX, USA, are the musical creation of John Lathrop, who takes independent ownership of every aspect of music production, as he writes, performs, sings, records, produces, and releases his music on his label, Plaid Records. Music is everything to him, and he has spent his entire life listening and learning. The culmination of his musical vocabulary and relentless drive to write the perfect pop song, Lathrop has carefully crafted The Stan Laurels with a big, lush, multi-layered pop/rock sound that feels both vintage and modern. Usually labeled indie rock or power-pop, the music truly spans a myriad of styles to show Lathrop's range - a range so broad that he's added Film Score Composer to his duties and two full-length motion picture soundtracks to his catalogue. This includes his most recent effort, the soundtrack the film Maybe Shower; entitled Maybe, this is Lathrop's most highly acclaimed album to date, landing on many "Best of 2018" lists and getting regular airplay all over the world. The pinnacle of these accolades was an Independent Music Award nomination for Best Indie/Alt Rock album of 2018.
Essentially the Indie Grammys, The IMAs are the biggest music award in the world for independent artists. Experimenting with many different musical styles, yet always maintaining an unwavering, strong sonic sense of self, John Lathrop is a unique force of nature, an audial auteur like no other artist. And to his delight, his loving creation, The Stan Laurels, can be found gracing film screens as often as radios. To summarize in one sentence, The Beatles, Breeders, Zombies, Kinks, Yes, and Debussy make up just some of the layers of the Warhol-esque sonic power-pop art painting that is The Stan Laurels.

Redwolves

March 15th has seen Copenhagen based Heavy Psych Rockers REDWOLVES release their hotly anticipated debut album, Future Becomes Past on Argonauta Records. Moving between modern Rock n Roll, intelligent vocals, heavy grooves and finest guitar licks, REDWOLVES manage to combine the classic Scandinavian sound with a fresh approach.
The band formed in 2012 and found a musical community in their common affinity for the classic heavy rock and the 00’s new wave of Scandinavian rock.
Their brand new album marks a noticeable further development of REDWOLVES’ expression which
through the records’ eight songs unfolds itself in a songwriting carrying catchy melodies, energetic and virtuoso musicianship and a modern and analogue attentive production by Jacob Bredahl (Riverhead, LLNN, Rising a.o.).
The band describes their music as “modern classic heavy rock” or at other times “future rock”. Both
terms appropriately describes how heavy Rock n’ Roll effortlessly can remain relevant, as long as the
classic virtues and a good dose of edge and innovation keep being present. REDWOLVES’ first full-length is a complex record, that shows several aspects of REDWOLVES’ talent for writing songs with both directness, catchy hooklines, dynamics and experimentation.
This record is party, light and joy, but equally despair, darkness and depression – and with
good reason....
When REDWOLVES had started off the songwriting for their debut, a brutal incident occurred which was to be determining for the album. On New Years Eve 16/17, singer Rasmus Cundell was the subject of a violent attack which carved its deep traces, both personally and within the band. The event caused a delay of the creative process but at the same time, the band became an important catalyst for pulling through. The lyrics were written after the attack which therefore
naturally constitutes the thematic subject matter of the album. On a personal level, the violence spawned a spiral of depressive and fearful thoughts but also on a more general level, the incident initiated a contemplation in regards to the possibilities of agency in a world that appears hostile and destructive.
Even though many of the songs origin from this depressive state, one still senses a path towards the
light in the music, and it is this adamant hope that the record will remind you of. As the good sides of
life can put depression, hopelessness and contingency into perspective, the negation of life can also put perspective on joy and light: “Especially because we all will perish soon, we must insist on living, partying, loving and not to be conquered by darkness, hate and destruction.” The band explains. “And thus, we must necessarily seek to journey out of the dark again.”
REDWOLVES
‘FUTURE BECOMES PAST’ TRACK LIST:
1. Plutocracy
2. Rigid Generation
3. The Abyss
4. Fenris
5. The Pioneer
6. Voyagers
7. Farthest From Heaven
8. Temple Of Dreams

Misty Shape are a rock duo from Voronezh, Russia. Tatyana Spasibukhova delivers strong, sensual vocals, while Andrey Zhuravlev provides the spectacular guitar riffs and slick production. The pair draw influence from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Pink Floyd and more to create powerful rock music fused with elements of jazz.
Their latest release, “I’m A Bank Robber” is packed with energy. Smooth and emotive verses, with attention grabbing chord patterns, explode into thunderous and catchy choruses that will leave you itching for more. Tatyana’s vocal delivery is a stand out. In the verses it’s passionate and
subdued, whereas the hook is sung with grit and attitude.
The loud and aggressive production is the cherry on top, giving this track all of the ingredients for a modern alternative rock hit.

DESTROY PLANETS! @sanpruk

FRESH BRIT METALLERS REVEAL EP PLANS & NEW TRACK
UK newcomers DESTROY PLANETS! are poised to rise with the release of their new EP, Mass X Gravity, which lands everywhere on Friday 23rd August. The band have also just dropped a new single, Absolution - https://youtu.be/n5rdF-onGb4 , which is out now.
DESTROY PLANETS! entered the fold at the start of the year and although the quintet are a brand new project, they have spent the past two years carefully constructing and embellishing on their intruding sound. Drawing from a wealth of metal influences, DESTROY PLANETS! consist of four seasoned musicians and a very new-tothe-scene vocalist. They found Tanya, the band’s resident screamer, in a festival field, and the band knew instantly it was fated. Right-handed Aaron, is a left-handed guitar playing nutcase, who shares his guitar duties with Nathan, who secretly smashes out Guns and Roses solos when he thinks nobody is listening. Brad is the group’s bass doctor, who likes to think about his math’s homework whilst playing intricate breakdown rhythms.
Lastly, Adam hits drums, plays synths, and spends far too much on production plugins.
From their inception, DESTROY PLANETS! have strived to create a modern metal sound unheard of in today’s industry by offering super throw down riffs, sharp intricate rhythms and blistering clean and heavy vocals. The band have just put down the finishing touches to their electrifying self-produced EP, Mass X Gravity, which is set to drop this Summer. The fiery fivesome are also poised to tour throughout the UK in 2019; stay glued to their social sites for festival updates.

Declan McNulty

Artist Bio

Drawing on a musical palette of artists such as Bob Dylan, Paul Weller, The Small Faces, The Band, Bruce Springsteen, The Stones and The Beatles,  Declan McNulty is a UK based solo artist who writes songs rooted in real life experience, inspired by every-day observations and composed of characters and situations that encountered along the way.

Depending on the song, these stories are set to catchy guitar heavy blues sounds, hook laden chilled out sing alongs or rootsy, raw acoustic driven numbers.

An accomplished multi instrumentalist playing with many different bands over the years, Declan has honed his craft contributing bass, harmonica, guitar amongst other things to the sound of several groups over the years.

Having spent so long on the side of the stage, Declan turned his hand to songwriting and after receiving a positive reaction on the local music scene, wrote over an albums worth of material in under a year and decided to go solo. His forthcoming EP is a true solo effort with Declan playing all the instruments on all the self penned compositions.

The first single from the album, “She’s Got A Load” is released on 1st Aug 19, with more singles to follow and the EP due out later this year.

KIDD NEBULA

KIDD NEBULA
Allow yourself into the endless cosmos of Kidd Nebula. Let the sounds and vibes of this Dutch self-taught solo musician take over your body and mind for an indefinable experience.
What started as a small mellow bedroom-project turned out as an energetic Red Hot Chili Peppers –like live-act, with the sole-purpose to bring people together and forget about our earthly existence for an hour to just be and feel.
Kidd Nebula’s self-named genre Swampy Swaus is a bad cover-up for not wanting to be tied down. The Kidd’s sound reminds mostly of Tame Impala; Gorillaz; Red Hot Chili Peppers; Prince and Mac Demarco. But since music (and live in general) is all about learning something new every day: keep exploring and re-inventing. This is why Kidd Nebula also is recording a hip-hop EP with his side-project Ecosystem and is he the co-founder of the local creative community Soulciety, that connects artist from all different arts and backgrounds.
From the very first note Kidd Nebula takes the audience by the hand to show them around in his atmosphere with his energy, jokes and dance-moves. On the record it’s just a matter of making sure you have the right sound-installation and an open mind.
“Be good to those around you, and be better to yourself. Peace and love” – Kidd Nebula
