Music For Programmers EP Kylmyys began as an ambient electronic duo providing background music for art gatherings and parties around the Seattle area. Over time, the Kylmyys sound evolved and they began infusing their soundscapes with a pop sensibility—receiving positive fanfare from both local and foreign publications. Since their 2012 album debut, The Ice Breaks at Dawn, Kylmyys releases have featured electronic beats and melodies fused with cold and dark ambient soundcapes, creating a sort of Post Rock meets Trip Hop Vibe. But most have found it impossible to pigeonhole the duo into one particular genre.Case in point: with Music for Programmers Kylmyys remain true to their eclectic sound, this time paying homage to '80s Synthwave—— adding their own unique take on the genre——and also to those who tirelessly create modern technological applications, programming well into the night. However, this music is not just for computer programmers but for all people, as Homo sapiens increasingly become connected to the human network through our smart phones and perhaps our awakened pineal glands, via the celestial wireless.
