set to release new single
‘Can I
Speak To Dirt?’
on Friday,
October 12th 2018
via Psycho
Boy Recordings
The band
will celebrate the release with a headline single release party at Drop The
Dumbulls, Liverpool on October 12th and a slew of UK tour dates. ‘Can I Speak
To Dirt?’ will be released across
Spotify, Apple Music & Google Play
Hailing
from the suburban Merseyside town of Huyton, Pet Virus are a fuzz-laden rock band
who play darkly-tinged, melodious music with a distinctly post-punk edge, spitting
out songs that describe the misery of modern life, with a gnarly Liverpool
council estate twist.
Describing
themselves as ‘scrunge’; that is ‘scouse grunge’, the band formed from the
proverbial ashes of former bands that include Enamel Animal, amongst others.
The three-piece’s influences include: Nirvana, Manic Street Preachers, Future
of the Left, Pixies, Kyuss, Smashing Pumpkins.
The
band have gigs booked to support the single and will be gigging mercilessly to
further support it. Future releases are already planned and recorded, with a
plethora of material ready to go. After only a matter of months and a handful
of shows, Pet Virus are already beginning to make waves.
